Matteo Satta is a Smart Cities and EU Affairs expert with extensive experience in urban innovation, digital transformation, and European funding programs.
His journey into urban development began in 2014 when he joined the City of Issy-les-Moulineaux, leading its participation in EU and international projects. His work has focused on integrating digital innovation into urban policies, fostering cross-border collaborations, and securing European funding to drive smart city initiatives. In addition to his consultancy work, he collaborates with IESEG School of Management, delivering specialized classes to MBA students from around the world.
As the Scientific Coordinator (for ANCI Toscana) of the "100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities" mission project CLIMABOROUGH, Matteo plays a key role in developing strategies for sustainable and innovative urban transformation. Over the years, he has been deeply involved in the management and coordination of major European projects (Horizon Europe, Interreg, Urbact, Horizon 2020, CIP, and the 6th and 7th Framework Programs), helping cities access funding, develop policies, and implement cutting-edge solutions.
His expertise is also recognized by the European Commission, where he serves as a selected expert for Horizon and Digital Europe programs. Additionally, he was a Lead Expert for URBACT III, supporting cities in developing and sharing best practices in urban development.
Driven by a passion for creating smarter, greener, and more connected cities, Matteo continues to support municipalities and organizations in navigating the complexities of European projects and innovation strategies.

Matteo is also a member of the association GlobalAI, aiming to promote the positive development, sustainable growth, and ethical application of Artificial Intelligence technology worldwide.​​
